Club wins Outstanding Group Philanthropy Award

The Zonta Club of Hamilton 1 was the proud winner of the Outstanding Philanthropic Group Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Golden Horseshoe Chapter. Sixteen  members of the club attended the awards lunch. 

Roger Ali, Vice President of Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation, nominated our club for this award offered by the Association of Fundraising Professional (AFP) Golden Horseshoe Chapter. The award honours an individual, organization or corporation from across the Golden Horseshoe region that makes a significant impact in their community through their gifts of time, talent or treasure.

The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) represents nearly 30,000 members in more than 213 chapters throughout the world, working to advance philanthropy through education, training, mentoring, research, credentialing, and advocacy. The association fosters the development and growth of fundraising professionals and promotes high ethical standards in the fundraising profession. The awards luncheon was held November 16th 2011 at the Burlington Convention Centre, and was attended by several hundred guests. Judy Lindsay accepted the award on behalf of the club.
